Finished Collage

This was the final stage of my collage. I liked the way it turned out, and I was glad that I decided to approach the construction of my collage with more preciseness than I had originally intended. My first idea was to cluster the images together into one whole piece, but it didn't look right. This cleaner style, I think, was the perfect choice.

Concept Statement:
The focus of my collage is the provide for the viewer, the perception of seeing the distance between the sky and the ground as almost imperceptible. In order to achieve this illusion, I focused on the moon and the sun because those objects tend to be the most captivating depending on the time of day. I took the moon and the sun and exaggerated their appearance in the sky to draw attention to them. Although the appearance of the sky itself is enough to look at, I didn’t want to draw all of the attention away from the beautiful environment which is why a large part of the focus of the collage is the lake and the wild life living around it. With these three main focuses of my collage, I illustrated change in time and space by the showing the change in time of day. The transition from moon to sun in itself is an illustration of not just time, but space as well. To further understand that both time and space are focuses of my collage, a hawk can be seen moving around the lake. The purpose of seeing the bridge from the viewpoint of being on the bridge is to ground the viewer, and help them comprehend the vastness of the sky and the objects in it. In reality, the sun and moon are not small
